About Chez Rosa

The restaurant we wanted to exist.

Chez Rosa was created around a simple idea: when you care about the details, people feel it.

After years working in hospitality, Kyle Robinson and Yazmin Saraya Jean knew they wanted to create a restaurant that reflected what mattered most to them: thoughtful cooking, genuine connection, high standards, and a culture built around care.

They wanted a restaurant where people could eat exceptionally well and still feel completely at ease. A place that could feel just as right for dinner at the bar as it does for an anniversary, birthday, or meaningful celebration.

That vision became Chez Rosa.

OUR STORY

French roots, shaped by Maine.

A trip to Chamonix and Paris helped clarify what drew Kyle and Yazmin to French cuisine: comfort, generosity, technique, and food people genuinely crave.

They were never interested in recreating a Parisian bistro in Kennebunk. Instead, French cooking became the foundation for something distinctly their own.

Today, Chez Rosa brings French technique together with the ingredients, seasons, and character of Maine.

THE COOKING

Craft, seasonality, and purpose.

Chef Kyle is the culinary heart of Chez Rosa, and his point of view shapes everything that comes out of the kitchen.

Our food is made here by Kyle and his team, with a deep respect for technique, ingredients, and the craft of cooking itself. From sauces and stocks to pasta, charcuterie, and the many components that make up each dish, everything begins in our kitchen and is made from scratch with care, skill, and a dedication to the craft. That process gives us the freedom to be inspired by the seasons, adjust dishes as ingredients change, and continually refine what is on the plate.

Over time, Kyle’s cooking has become increasingly focused and purposeful. Rather than adding complexity for the sake of it, he focuses on fewer elements prepared exceptionally well. Ingredients should be at their best. Flavors and textures should feel balanced. Every component should earn its place on the plate.

Seasonality plays a central role.

We want to cook differently in January than we do in August. We want to cook only with what will offer the absolute best quality and flavor to the guest at that specific moment in time. The ingredients available in Maine help determine what belongs on the table and when.

THE HOSPITALITY

Warm, personal, and rooted in connection.

Yazmin is the heart of the guest experience, and her approach to hospitality is rooted in warmth, honest connection, and making people feel genuinely cared for.

For us, hospitality is about paying attention and deeply caring about every detail.

It is in the way someone is welcomed when they arrive, remembered when they return, and cared for throughout a meal. Dietary needs are handled thoughtfully. Regular guests become familiar faces. Small interactions matter.

Whether you’re joining us casually or celebrating something important, our goal is the same: that you leave Chez Rosa feeling seen, valued, and genuinely welcome.

OUR TEAM

Care starts behind the scenes.

We believe a strong restaurant is built by people who feel respected, supported, and proud of the work they do.

At Chez Rosa, high standards and hard work go hand in hand with consistency, growth, collaboration, and respect for the people behind the experience.

That philosophy shapes how we think about our team just as much as it shapes how we care for our guests.

OUR COMMUNITY + ENVIRONMENT

Care extends beyond the dining room.

The same attention we bring to cooking and hospitality guides the way we think about our relationships with local producers and suppliers, our community, and our environmental impact.

Sustainability is not a separate idea for us. It is part of taking responsibility for how we operate and the choices we make every day.

From thoughtful sourcing and reducing waste to supporting our team and maintaining strong local relationships, we want the values behind Chez Rosa to extend well beyond the table.

WHAT CONNECTS IT ALL

Nothing is an afterthought.

The cooking. The service. The team. The ambiance. The ingredients. The details.

They are all connected by the same belief: care matters.

Chez Rosa is the restaurant Kyle and Yazmin wanted to exist, a place where food is taken seriously, people are cared for genuinely, and both are expressed with warmth, intention, and a sense of ease.
