– Meet our founders –

[French cuisine brought to Maine ]

Chez Rosa is a proudly independent and locally owned French Bistro by husband and wife team Chef Kyle Robinson and Yazmin Saraya Jean.

They met in Colorado where they realized a shared passion for hospitality, the environment and a dream to own and operate their own business. Since then it has always been in the front of their minds.

It wasn’t until they moved to Maine that they knew that was the place where they wanted it to be. Kyle is originally from Kennebunk and they’ve always felt especially drawn to the area.

They both spent a big part of their culinary careers learning from French Chefs and mentors which definitely influenced the decision of having a French restaurant. Yazmin’s grandfather was from a town in southern France called Barcelonnette so she grew up with France as part of her culture.

In January of 2019 they went on a trip to Chamonix and Paris which fueled the inspiration to finally open a French Bistro. They serve French comfort food incorporating products from local four seasons farms, ocean, and pastures of the area.

They couldn’t be happier of being part of the Kennebunkport community and they look forward to welcoming you and making you feel at home!

We are the first certified Ocean Friendly restaurant in Maine!

For us, doing more for the planet, was non-negotiable since day 1

Plastic pollution is suffocating our ocean and the many animals that call it home. Researchers estimate there are now over 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic in the ocean with 8.75 million metric tons being added every year. This pollution is impacting our marine ecosystems and wildlife including seabirds, dolphins, fish, turtles, and whales. Plastic fragments are even displacing plankton as the base of the food chain. So what’s the best way to combat this global epidemic facing our ocean? It’s simple: we need to stop the problem at the source! The Surfrider Foundation’s Ocean Friendly Restaurants program does just that. One restaurant, one customer at a time, it increases awareness, drives behavior change, and ultimately creates scalable impact to reduce our plastic footprint. -Via Surfrider.org
